What is naturopathy?

Naturopathy is a holistic form of natural medicine, whereby the whole individual is considered including their physiological, genetic, emotional, environmental, spiritual, cultural and social aspects of their health. According to the World Health Organisation, approximately 80% of the world's population now uses natural medicine.
Naturopaths are focussed on prevention and treat the cause of one's illness and not just their symptoms. They treat illness and imbalances using nutritional and lifestyle modifications, herbal medicine, vitamin and mineral therapy, flower essences and homeopathy. Herbal medicine is one of the most ancient forms of medicine, which is practiced world-wide. Naturopaths also understand how pharmaceutical medications interact with herbal medicines and supplements ensuring safety for the client.
